Scott's grandfather, Bob Steider, founded Resort Realty in 1976. Scott grew up in Albuquerque but spent every summer (and many weekends in between) working for his grandfather doing odd jobs around the office. In 1993 Scott decided to move to Red River for one winter while taking a break from school. Once the mountain life was in his blood there was no going back. He made his move permanent and took a job as a ski instructor at the Red River Ski Area. Wanting to follow in his grandfather's footsteps, Scott joined the Resort Realty team in 1996. Now as the Assistant Ski School Director and Level 2 certified instructor, he splits his time between the ski area in the winter and Resort Realty in the summer. Scott attended the Kaplan Institute's "Inspection Training Associates" home inspection course and opened Red River's first home inspection company, "Inspect the Best," in 2007. He has been a member of both the New Mexico Association of Realtors and Taos County Association of Realtors for over 13 years and served on Red River's Parks and Recreation Committee for four years. Scott's wife, Rebecca, is the Tourism and Economic Development Director for the Town of Red River. They have three dogs and spend their spare time enjoying all of the outdoor recreation opportunities Red River has to offer.
